Welcome to the Workshop for integrating keyboarding in Computer Skills for Beginners classes in Continuing Education. This workshop focuses on techniques to use for students who do not know anything about a keyboard or how to type properly. Participants will receive information on how a keyboard works, how a keyboard and computer works and brainstorm ideas to help students to learn the keyboard when entering computer classes for the first time. There will be a scenario that all participants will work with. The scenario will show an employee who works on the floor in an Industrial and wants to apply for a job in the office. The employee will be able to work 9-5, Monday – Friday and will be able to spend more time with her family. The only typing skills that she has are putting in figures using Excel. First we will begin with the Ice Breaker so that we can become familiar with everyone.
